Council extends digital partnership to improve services

NORTHUMBERLAND, UK – 17 December 2025 – Northumberland County Council is expanding its partnership with field service management leaders, Totalmobile. The Council is introducing new digital solutions using Totalmobile’s award-winning Field First platform to help front-line teams work more efficiently over the next three years.

This includes enhancing how teams manage and record work, coordinating operations and communicating with residents. Staff and partner organisations will be connected in real time, with updates shared instantly, helping to reduce delays and freeing up back-office staff to focus on complex cases and continued service improvements. The new technology will give Council staff and residents greater visibility and control, helping to improve services across the county.

“This development is about building on the progress we’ve already made.”

“Our front-line teams do a fantastic job, and this partnership with Totalmobile helps us to give them the right tools to work more efficiently and deliver an even better experience for our residents. As well as our existing services, we will be looking to train a wider range of teams with this technology as we continue to deploy the software in innovative ways.”

said Cllr Nick Oliver, Cabinet Member for Finance and Value for Money at Northumberland County Council.

This latest upgrade from Northumberland highlights how Councils across the UK are embracing digital solutions to make services work better.

More local authorities and housing providers are now looking at new ways to connect teams, streamline processes and deliver a better experience to residents. Totalmobile now supports nearly half of the UK’s top 50 housing providers—a reflection of the trust the sector places in its technology and the results it delivers.

Chris Hornung, Managing Director of Public Sector at Totalmobile, said:

“Northumberland County Council continues to lead by example in how local authorities use advanced technology to improve public sector services. By expanding their use of our Field First platform, they are reinforcing their commitment to support staff and deliver improved outcomes for residents.”

– David Webb, Managing Director of Property and Facilities Management at Totalmobile

The expansion builds on the Council’s current success with Totalmobile’s existing software solutions across a range of services. To learn more about how Totalmobile’s Field First platform is helping Councils across the UK transform housing services, visit totalmobile.com.
